What kind of training do commissionaires receive?
In today’s fiercely competitive security industry, Commissionaires Ottawa is recognized as a leader – a strong and experienced organization whose more than 3,500 private security professionals are trusted to protect and serve over 200 client sites. Our security professionals are recognized as the most disciplined, most experienced and best-trained in the industry.
Initial training for selected applicants
We provide, at no cost to selected applicants, a six-day basic security course (including first aid training) that must be successfully completed before you are hired. Although you will not be paid during this pre-hiring phase, the basic security course is a part of our selection process and will help us (and you) to confirm if Commissionaires Ottawa is a good fit.
Advanced, ongoing training for commissionaires
Commissionaires are regularly trained and evaluated by full-time certified instructors, who ensure each and every security professional is consistent, reliable, aware and quick to adapt to the highest of safety and security standards. We are also focused on keeping stride with our clients’ most sophisticated surveillance, communications and security technologies and systems. All our intensive training programs are designed to not only meet, but exceed a number of nationally and internationally recognized quality management, performance, safety and security standards.
Training for supervisors
The quality of our supervisors truly sets us apart from our competition, and we invest considerable resources in selecting and training the best of our commissionaires for this very important role. If you become a supervisor, you will receive either a four-day shift leader course or a ten-day senior supervisor course, as well as the opportunity to attend special workshops and seminars.
