Lead Sponsor and Organizer Commissionaires Ottawa, in partnership with Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Petawawa, is preparing for its Third Annual RUN FOR MILITARY FAMILIES event in support of the Petawawa Miltary Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) and its mission - which is to enrich the lives of individuals and families of the military community through positive action, education and support.

Confirmed Guest Speakers include: Captain (N) Paul A. Guindon (Ret'd), CEO, Commissionaires Ottawa, Lead Sponsor and Organizer; Lieutenant-General Andrew Leslie, A.B., CMM, MSC, MS.M, CD, Chief of the Land Staff on behalf of Chief of the Defence Staff of the Canadian Forces; His Worship Larry O’Brien, in his capacity as Mayor and on behalf of the City of Ottawa; The Honourable John Baird, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, M.P., P.C., B.A., in his capacity as Honourary Commissionaire; and, Max Keeping, in his capacity as Board member, CDS Military Families Foundation.

The event kick-off will be on Parliament Hill by the Centennial Flame on May 6 between 8:00-9:00 a.m.  The finish line and a cheque presentation will occur on May 7 amidst hundreds of supporters gathered at a Red Friday Rally. The rally is confirmed for 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 517 (3583 Petawawa Boulevard, Petawawa) and the RUN FOR MILITARY FAMILIES runners are due to cross the finish line by around 1:00 p.m.
